YCN Competition
I was lucky enough to receive a YCN award for my submission for my chosen brief of Fedrigoni. The reason for choosing the Fedrigoni brief was that they are known to be difficult to receive a commendation from and I wanted to challenge myself and push my capabilities to produce a finished outcome made completely from paper as required. The brief was to create a Christmas gift that would go into customer goody bags at their Christmas party, promoting their new ‘Constellation Range’ of papers. The papers were all different types of textures on ivory, white and silver coloured papers. What seemed to be the most important part of the brief was that the gift had to showcase the Constellation range as well as having that quality, flawless look that people will want to keep it and others want to own it. I focused on the name of the paper range and explored constellations of the night sky as the shimmering papers related to the stars in a night sky. The overall idea behind the gift was that it illustrated the night skies constellations from Verona, Italy, which is where Fedrigoni began its roots and heritage of paper making. The chosen constellations were carefully selected using the constellations of the night sky on the coming Christmas day of 2017, linking to the Christmas theme gift. The constellations throughout the gift have been foiled producing a real quality, precious look when paired with the high quality papers of the Fedrigoni Constellation range.
