My major project in Graphic Design focused on inspiration. I noticed that throughout university the word ‘inspiration’ was used frequently by lectures but I found myself scrolling through the internet in search of it, which made me more uninspired than inspired. Through my research I gathered information on different ways to get inspired. Interviewed post graduate students on their advice and tips on how they get inspired whilst working in the creative industry. Looking at already existing work I found a niche for a magazine that would provide young creatives with a burst of quarterly inspiration, preventing them automatically going straight to online sources. The magazine would be a yearly subscription where you would receive the Idea Juice magazine 4 times a year. ‘Idea Juice’ is the name of the magazine, I called it this as I felt it was a playful and fun use of words to describe the ideation process of coming up with new concepts. I wanted the look and feel of the magazine to be just as inspirational as the content inside which is why I used multiple different papers and stocks to give the magazine a tactile feel when you are flicking through. As a subscription the magazine comes with goodies to help with ideation and ideas so included is a pen and sketchbook to scribble ideas down. As a inspirational magazine future magazines would have the same style but papers, content and cover designs would change to provide different inspirational textures and visuals.
